Property crime, Gympie - Gympie

Throughout March, there has been a number of reported break and enters, unlawful entry to vehicles and burglaries in the area.

Gympie Police are urging homeowners, construction site workers, builders, contractors, business owners and community groups to take the time and review the security of their respective homes, sheds, construction sites, building sites, storage compounds and shipping containers that are being utilised to store power tools, hand tools and building equipment.

Between 12am and 5pm on March 7, unknown offender/s damaged a security screen door and entry was gained to a residence on the Bruce Highway, Chatsworth.

Various items were stolen from the residence including two televisions (with one being a Hisense 58inch television), CCTV cameras that were still in the boxes, a pink laptop computer, a wristwatch and a red and black tool bag with various hand tools including a blue battery powered drill with charger.

At about 10.30pm on Wednesday, March 16, unknown offender/s opened an unlocked window and entered a residence on Hood Road, Veteran.

A set of car keys was stolen from inside the residence and a vehicle was stolen.

The vehicle was located on Old Goomboorian Road, Veteran a short time later.

Enter with intent, other premises, with breaking, Glanmire

Sometime between 2pm on Saturday, March 12 and 5am on Monday, March 14, unknown offender/s damaged security mesh over a window and gained entry to a construction office on Dennis Little Drive, Glanmire.

Six red Milwaukee five amp batteries were stolen.

Vehicles – Stealing from/enter with intent, Araluen

Sometime between 6.30am and 3pm on Thursday, March 17, unknown offenders damaged a rear drivers side window and gained entry to a vehicle which was parked on Saleyard Road, Gympie.

Inside the vehicle, a bag of various tools and a bag of clothing were stolen.

Unknown offender/s damaged tool box locks and pried open two tool boxes which were on the back of the vehicle and stole various battery powered tools, hand tools, sockets, grease gun, fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.

Sometime between 12pm on Thursday, March 24 and 11am on Saturday, March 26, unknown offenders forced entry into a residence, storage shed and other sheds located on three separate properties on Queens Park Road, Gympie.

Items stolen from these three properties include a Ferrex whipper snipper, two white metal dish drying racks, Boc mig welder with a bottle of Argon gas, Makita battery drill and charger, Ferrex pressure cleaner, blue generator, twenty G clamps of different colours and makes, KC socket set, wooden banjo, Tokai guitar, electric bass guitar, diving knife and black scabbard, portable rechargeable Bluetooth speaker, Ryobi electric chainsaw, log splitter, hammer, set of Stanley chisels, Briggs and Stratton cordless hedge trimmer with battery and charger, King Chrome hoist (still in box), Shoei electric guitar (Phil Emmanuel signature on back head stock),  Shoei motorcycle helmet, four wide standard rims for a commodore, six ‘Kleva Sharp’ stainless steel knives and a 2013 Alfa trailers box trailer bearing Queensland registration plate ES3746.

Police advise that all materials, power tools, hand tools and machinery should be marked with the company / builder name, building site lot number and owners name to prove ownership.

We also encourage you to keep a record of identifying features, serial numbers and purchase details for insurance purposes and if your property is located, it can be returned to its rightful owner.

An identification method can include taking photographs, engraving, mobile phone apps or even tracking devices.
